2 parts vodka
1 part St. Germain
1/2 part fresh squeezed lime juice
Shake vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into glass and garnish with lime peel or wedge.
Forget the cosmo, this is my favorite new cocktail. I asked my husband to make me something with St. Germain, a French elderflower liqueur and he outdid himself with this one. The brand says the elderflower "imparts a crisp melange of flavors with hints of citrus and tropical fruits." I get the citrus, but think the other fruity flavors are more like orchard fruits, pear, apple, apricot, than tropical fruits. When shaken up with the vodka and fresh lime juice I think the drink has a fresh grapefruity quality. Simple to make, just three ingredients, and a feast for the eyes garnished with lime. For me they are cocktail perfection! Cheers! XO Martha St. Germain Gimlet 2 parts vodka 1 part St. Germain 1/2 part fresh squeezed lime juice Shake vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice. Another fabulous recipe from Kate's super-homemaker neighbor, Liz. Liz's Punch
"I think the Prosecco and the club soda keep it light and refreshing." This is Marlo's Favorite drink from CO'M Vietnamese Grill in Dunwoody Village in GA and it looks amazing! Parisian Summer: 2 oz. Absolut Citron 1/2 oz. honey 2 oz. lemon juice 1/2 oz. St. Germaine syrup 1/2 oz. St. Germaine Liquor Splash of Soda 4 lemon slices This drink can be easily summed up as adult lemonade. It's perfectly balanced between tart and sweet. It's got me thinking of a warm summer night, all year round. This drink comes from CO'M a Vietnamese Grill in Dunwoody Village in GA. It's one of Marlo's favorite haunts....and we can see why, with drinks like this! CO'M Crusta: 1 oz. Bombay or Bombay Sapphire 1 oz. Domaine de Canton (French Ginger Cognac) 1/4 oz. fresh lemon juice 1/2 ounce Blue Curacao This drink has a warm undertone and it is super refreshing. The ginger gets you as an aftertaste and it is wonderful. If you hadn't noticed I (Martha) have an extensive kooky t-shirt collection. The one pictured here is one of my favorites and it does ring true...guess that's why the big guy bought it for me! I like chocolate and desserts, but when counting my calories I have to make choices and I will usually opt to have liquor as my dessert. But sometimes you want to have your cake and eat it too...that's when the chocolate martini is the best of both worlds. I have two recipes in my repertoire. One is creamy and almost milkshakey and the other is more of a true martini cocktail. Which ever one you choose...enjoy becoming like a chocoholic for booze. XOXO Martha This is the Hershey Hotel's Recipe for a chocolate martini: 1 1/2 parts vanilla vodka 1 part creme de cacao (clear or dark) chocolate kiss Shake with ice and strain into a glass. Serve with a hershey kiss at the bottom of the glass. This recipe comes from The Cultured Pearl sushi restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It's desserty and creamy. 3 parts vanilla vodka 4 parts Godiva's Chocolate Liqueur 4 parts Godiva's Cappuccino Liqueur Shake with ice and strain into glass. Serve by rimming the glass with cocoa powder, nesquick or crushed oreos. Or swirl chocolate syrup in the glass before straining in the drink. |
